Sent to you: a written summary of your request.
  2. 2

  6. 6

    Arrival

Sent to you: customs receipt, delivery confirmation and handover checklist.

Know the real cost before you commit

What will actually land in Tema, in dollars.

Enter the car's sale price to see every line item in the auction and shipping invoice — not just a headline number. This is the same breakdown format we send with every quote.

  • ✓ Environmental, virtual bid & gate fees
  • ✓ Buyer fee — tiered by sale price, per the auction fee schedule
  • ✓ Service fee, towing & storage
  • ✓ Ocean shipping to Ghana

*Service fee is also tiered by pricing category. Towing to the shipping yard is an average — locations closer to the yard cost less, farther locations cost more — and shipping to Ghana varies the same way. Buyer fee follows the standard auction fee schedule for the final bid price entered. Illustrative estimate only — your written quote is confirmed before any payment.

Why we exist

Built for buyers who've been burned before.

Oseaeyo started in 2019 after our founder, a Ghanaian mechanical engineer who spent nine years buying fleet vehicles at U.S. auctions, kept hearing the same story from friends back home: money sent, car never arrived, or a car arrived that looked nothing like the photos. We built our whole process around removing that risk — documentation at every step, staged payments, and a straight answer when a car isn't perfect.

Pricing

Simple, published pricing — set by the final bid price, not negotiated.

Our service fee is one line in the full landed-cost breakdown — see the cost estimator for the complete total, including auction fees, shipping and storage.

Frequently asked

The questions every buyer asks before wiring money abroad.

No — we don't hold stock, and we're upfront about that. We source per customer, per auction, based on the make, model, year and budget you give us. The Recent Deliveries section shows real vehicles we've recently won, not live listings for sale.

It depends on what wins at auction, which is exactly why we don't quote a flat number upfront. Enter a final bid price into our cost estimator to see the full landed cost — auction fees, our service fee, shipping and estimated duty — broken down line by line.

Bank wires from Ghana to the U.S. typically clear in 2 to 5 working days, depending on your bank and whether the compliance desk asks for supporting documents. Transfers initiated before noon GMT usually move faster. Because auction houses charge storage penalties if an invoice is not settled within a few days of the win, we ask you to start the transfer as soon as you approve a bid, and we send you the invoice immediately so your bank has the paperwork it needs.

It depends where in the United States the car is. Our typical shipping times to Tema are 28 to 30 days from New Jersey, 30 to 35 days from Illinois, and 45 to 60 days from California.

Map of the United States with location pins marking our three main shipping origins: New Jersey, Illinois and California.
  • New Jersey 28–30 days
  • Illinois 30–35 days
  • California 45–60 days

Shipping runs $2,000 to $2,500 to Tema, and where the car sits in the United States is what moves the figure. New Jersey is at the bottom of the range — it's closest to the port. Illinois sits in the middle, because the vehicle has to be trucked to the coast first. California is at the top, since the west coast route to Ghana is considerably longer. Vehicle size matters too: a full-size pickup or large SUV takes up more space than a saloon. It's shown as its own line in the cost estimator, alongside towing, storage and every other fee.

Yes, if you want us to. We handle the entire clearing process at Tema: customs duty assessment, ICUMS declaration, GRA payment, terminal handling charges, physical examination and port release. If you prefer to clear the vehicle yourself, we hand over the bill of lading and all supporting documents and stay available to advise.

It gets more expensive, not impossible. Ghana calculates a vehicle's age from its year of manufacture, and vehicles past that 10-year mark face rising penalty duties on top of standard import tax — the older the car, the steeper the penalty. We flag this before you commit to a vehicle, so it's factored into your quote and never discovered at customs.
